AUDIENCE: Web Developers, WordPress Administrators, or other technical users (Marketing Users/Administrators required for Act-On setup)
OBJECTIVES: Learn how to integrate forms and the Beacon Tracking code into your WordPress website
Beacon Tracking Code
There are multiple ways of adding your tracking code to your WordPress website. Please see Adding Beacon Tracking Code to WordPress for details.
WordPress does not permit iframe code by default. However, we can enable it with the use of plug-ins.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New in your WordPress administrator panel. Here, you may search and select one of many plugins which will enable the inclusion of iframes on your page, such as the "iframe" plug-in. Please be aware that Act-On does not officially endorse any third-party WordPress plug-in, and is not responsible for unintentional changes resulting from plug-in use.
- Insert your iframe, replacing the <iframe> HTML syntax with the plug-in shortcode syntax as needed. Reference your plug-in's instructions for shortcode details.
For further information on iframing, see the 'iframe' section of the article Embedding Forms on a Website.
If you have a custom-designed form, the article Posting External Forms to Act-On describes some of the processes available for capturing and passing submission data to an Act-On signup list. However, due to the popularity of WordPress form plugins, the guide may be all you need: Integrating an Act-On Form External Post with WordPress
