Unsubscribing a Recipient



Every email message you send from your Act-On account includes an 'unsubscribe' link, typically in the footer. A recipient can click that link to opt out of future mailings. Act-On records unsubscribed addresses in the Opt-Out list.

Any email address that appears in this list will not be sent future messages from your account. If someone cannot click the unsubscribe link for some reason, or if you receive an email message from someone asking to unsubscribe, you can unsubscribe the address manually.

Follow the steps below to unsubscribe (opt out) an individual recipient:

  • Click Contacts > Other Lists, and choose Bounces & Opt-Outs.
  • Select the Opt-Out List title and choose Open.
  • Click Add Email Address.
  • Enter the email address in the pop-up window, and click OK.

Follow the steps below to upload a list of email addresses into the Opt-Out list.

  • Click Contacts > Other Lists, and choose Bounces & Opt-Outs.
  • Select the Opt-Out List, and choose Upload/Merge.
  • In the Select Method drop-down, choose Upload an Excel file or text (CSV) file.
  • Accept the terms of the agreement by clicking the check box.
  • Click Choose File, and locate the file from your desktop or network drive.
