With the introduction of the new Form Composer, we’ve made it possible to create responsive forms easily using the drag-and-drop editor and added new functionality like conditional logic to help customers make the most of every form visit. The new Composer will go to GA in early 2018, at which point Classic Forms will continue to function but not be editable in the Classic Composer.
To make the transition as seamless as possible, we’re offering the ability to convert Classic Forms, which will create a new version of the form for use with the new Composer without affecting the original. To do so, simply open a new Labs Form and select ‘Classic Form’ on the interstitial page.
Your newly converted form will retain its original properties* which will be shown in the Properties tab and can be modified.
*With the exception of Response Display settings (Same browser window, New browser window, The whole browser window, The parent browser window), as these options are not yet available in the new Composer.
The other components of Classic Forms that will not be converted are:
External Web Analytics
Fixed-width / Adaptive-width
File Upload block
Where possible we’ve added UI elements in the new Composer to indicate that the above components were used in a Classic Form and not brought over during conversion.
For form design elements (e.g. Logo and File Upload Block), we’ve added placeholder blocks into the form itself to indicate where those fields were located on the original. You can remove these placeholder blocks by closing them out in the top right corner. If you don’t remove them, we will do so automatically on Save and they will no longer appear on your next visit to that form.
We’ve also added a notification to the Form Properties slideout in the Design tab (indicated by a blue dot in the Settings menu) specifying that Stationery is no longer supported. This too can be closed out in the editor or removed automatically on Save.
