Form Fields Overview

When creating an Act-On form, you can use any of the default form fields or create your own custom form fields.

In addition, you have access to a variety of standard fields to further customize the information you receive from form submitters.

Default form fields

When you create a new form, Act-On inserts two default fields to start. These include:

  • Section Heading (or Rich Text Section)
  • Name & Email

Typically, forms provide a description or instructions for completing the form at the beginning. Act-On provides the Section Heading field for this purpose. The Section Heading field is a rich text editor that allows you to work in a word processing environment.

In addition, Act-On automatically inserts a Name & Email field to capture first name, last name, and email address data from your form submitters. You can set each of these fields to be required or optional.

Standard form fields

In addition to the default form fields described above, a set of standard fields is available for your use. Similar to the default fields, the standard form fields can also be set to be required or optional. To insert these standard form fields, hover over one of the default fields listed above and click the New option. The standard form fields include:

  • First & Last Name
  • Title, Dept, Company
  • Street Address
  • Phone Numbers

Custom form fields

These are additional form fields that can be used and customized according to your needs. For example, you can create a custom form field that requests a responder's industry via the Drop List or Radio Buttons fields. You can even insert a comment section box using the Paragraph Text field. To insert these custom form fields, hover over one of the default fields listed above and click the New option. Below is a list of all the available custom form fields:

  • One Line Text
  • Side by Side Text
